Guangzhou Customs launches 12 convenience measures for the 140th Canton Fair

China News Service, Guangzhou, October 9 (Reporter Xu Qingqing) Guangzhou Customs held a press conference on the 9th and released 12 convenient measures to support the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in 2026. The newly released convenience measures include "supporting the inspection of exhibits at the museum" and "supporting the export of agricultural products and food".

The 140th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou in three phases from October 15 to November 4. The total exhibition area is approximately 1.55 million square meters, with more than 75,000 booths, attracting 32,000 companies to participate.

The convenient measures released this time focus on supporting efficient customs clearance of exhibits and personnel, dispatching personnel to provide on-site services, supporting inbound exhibit inspections, supporting the entry of food and cosmetics for exhibitions, supporting the enjoyment of tax incentives for purchased exhibits, optimizing the convenient verification model for departure tax refunds, implementing the export "batch inspection (quarantine)" reform pilot, supporting the export of agricultural products and food, etc., to ensure the smooth and efficient customs clearance of merchants and exhibits entering and exiting the Canton Fair.

Yu Lixin, Deputy Commissioner of Guangzhou Customs, introduced the new measures at the press conference. He said that the on-site inspection is to meet the needs of enterprises for logistics transportation and exhibition arrangement. Customs inspection is embedded in the process of exhibits arriving at the exhibition hall for exhibition arrangement, so as to improve the efficiency of customs clearance and exhibition arrangement. In terms of supporting the export of agricultural products, exporting agricultural products enterprises or planting and breeding bases can rely on the recommendations obtained by applying to the agricultural and rural departments in advance. When submitting external recommendation applications to the customs, they are exempted from customs on-site assessment.

The first batch of inbound exhibits at this Canton Fair were successfully cleared and entered at Guangzhou Nansha Port on September 27. As of October 9, 10 batches of Canton Fair exhibits have entered the country from Guangzhou Nansha Port, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and other ports, and it is expected that more exhibits will enter the country in the next few days.

On the same day, Guangzhou Customs also released the customs clearance instructions for this Canton Fair, which provided precautions in eight aspects including Canton Fair registration, exhibit approval and access, entry material declaration, exhibit inspection and release, in-exhibition supervision, exhibit disposal, personnel and personal belongings supervision, and reporter interviewing equipment, and guided exhibitors and relevant personnel to understand the relevant customs clearance policies and regulations of the exhibition in advance.
