The Turkish ambassador to Egypt comments on Mohamed Salah's goal in the Turkish league

(CNN) - Salih Mutlu Şen, Turkish Ambassador to Egypt, interacted with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah celebrating his goal during a match between Trabzonspor and Gencerberligi on Sunday.

Salah scored Trabzon's second goal from the penalty spot, helping his club win 0-5, in the matches of the fourth week of the Turkish League.

The Turkish ambassador commented on a clip of the 34-year-old executing the penalty kick, saying: “The penalty kick is done like this, calm, confident, clear, strong and in the corner.”

Mutlu Shen posted on his account on the “X” platform a picture of Salah during his celebration of his goal, and commented by saying: “This prostration of gratitude opens the heart of the Turkish nation.”

The Egyptian star reached the No. 5 scoring contribution in the Turkish league this season, as he scored 4 times and assisted a goal.

While Trabzonspor club reached the seventh point in fourth place on the competition’s ranking ladder during the current season 2026/27.
