Why do you need to update mObywatel?

The Ministry of Digitization renews the certificate used by the mObywatel application. This is the element responsible for safe operation and connection of the application with the state infrastructure.

To continue using all mObywatela functions, you must have version 4.93.1 installed. This also applies to the mObywatel Junior application. The deadline indicated in the announcement is November 16. As we read on the government website, we do not have to do anything only in one case - if we have automatic updates turned on on our phone. Then the application will update itself.

How to check the version of the mObywatel application?

You can check the version number you are using directly in the application:

open mObywatela,

go to the "More" tab,

in the "Other" section, select "About the application".

If the application is not version 4.93.1, the update must be downloaded via Google Play or App Store. In the store, just search for mObywatela and select the "Update" or "Upgrade" option.

The change is also important for companies and institutions

On November 16, the mobywatel.gov.pl domain certificate will also be renewed. The case concerns entities that use services available at addresses ending mobywatel.gov.pl - for example api.mobywatel.gov.pl.

Companies and institutions should check the method of integration with the system. Additional steps may be needed when their solutions use, store, or verify a specific SSL certificate.

Changing the certificate does not require any modifications to the BackSystem, Tools or CryptoSystem solutions.
