The US House of Representatives approved the Senate version of a bill introducing new sanctions against Russia.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that China's cooperation with other countries should not be subject to interference by third parties.

Guo Jiakun stressed that China opposes extraterritorial jurisdiction, which has no basis in international law.

BEIJING, September 17 – RIA Novosti. China's cooperation with other countries should not be subject to interference by third parties, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a briefing on Thursday, commenting on the US bill on sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the US House of Representatives gained the required number of votes to approve the Senate version of the bill authored by the late Senator Lindsey Graham * on the introduction of new sanctions against Russia; the final document will be sent to President Donald Trump for signature.

"China has always carried out normal trade and economic cooperation with countries around the world on the basis of equality and mutual benefit," Guo Jiakun said.

The diplomat emphasized that “this cooperation is not directed against third parties and does not tolerate interference or coercion by third parties.”

“We consistently oppose extraterritorial jurisdiction, which has no basis in international law and is not authorized by the UN Security Council,” he said.
