Brighton continued its successive victories and temporarily snatched second place from Arsenal with a great victory over its guest Crystal Palace 5-0 on Saturday in the seventh stage of the English Football League, while Manchester United continued to lose points by falling into a draw trap against its host and rival Leeds United 1-1.
In the first match, Brighton honored its guest, Crystal Palace, with a 4-0 win, achieving its fourth successive victory after a loss and a draw, and the fifth this season, raising its score to 16 points, one point ahead of defending champion Arsenal, who will visit Nottingham Forest later.
On the other hand, Crystal Palace suffered its fourth loss this season, freezing its score at 14 points and falling to fourteenth place.
Paraguayan Diego Gomez increased the hosts' lead (7), and Swedish-Tunisian international Yacine Ayari added third (10).
Brighton continued its advantage in the second half and translated it into two goals through Greek Charalambos Kostoulas (49) and Jack Henshilwood (84).
In the second match, Manchester United was on its way to achieving its second victory this season when it took the lead with a goal by Cameroonian Brian Mbomo (35), but Leeds equalized through Dominic Calvert-Lewin (51).
It is Manchester United's fourth draw, compared to two losses and one win, raising its score to seven points in thirteenth place. This is a ranking that does not befit the club's long history, crowned with 20 league titles, nor its great financial capabilities, after it failed to achieve victory for the fifth consecutive match in the league.
The bitterness of the result increased because it came at Elland Road Stadium, the stronghold of one of the historical rivals, even though coach Michael Carrick’s team was the first to score.
The young English coach seems unable so far to correct the course of the “Red Devils” despite his tactical attempts, including placing the Portuguese international playmaker Bruno Fernandes in the position of the fake striker during Sunday’s confrontation.
This option seemed successful at first, as the visitors opened the scoring when Cameroonian Brian Mboimou converted Belgian international Youri Tielemans' cross into the net, but Leeds equalized through Calvert-Lewin following a corner kick, then wasted two consecutive chances to snatch the victory in stoppage time (90 + 1).
Leeds United raised its score to 10 points in seventh place.
Bournemouth achieved its first victory this season, at the expense of its guest, Sunderland, who was numerically inferior, 2-0.
وبكّر بورنموث بالتسجيل وتحديداً في الدقيقة السادسة عبر لاعب وسطه ماركوس تافرنييه إثر تمريرة من البرازيلي إيفانيلسون.
Sunderland suffered a painful blow when its Austrian defender, Kevin Danso, was sent off in the 17th minute.
Evanilson secured Bournemouth's victory by scoring the second goal at the beginning of the second half (48).
Bournemouth got rid of the last place that it shared with Tottenham and rose to fifteenth place with six points, compared to four points for Sunderland, who fell to nineteenth place, penultimate.
The stage concludes on Monday with Tottenham's meeting with Coventry City.

Freiburg scored through Derry Sheerant in the 14th minute, but Algerian international star Ibrahim Maza equalized for Leverkusen in the 19th minute, ending the first half with a 1-1 draw between the two teams.
The excitement continued in the second half.
Leverkusen is behind Freiburg, in third place, with the same score of points, after suffering its first loss in the tournament during the current season, compared to 4 wins and one draw. The two teams are only one point behind Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, who are in first and second place, respectively.
