On the 15th, members of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan of the Centrist Reform Alliance entered into final negotiations to name the new party that will be formed following the dissolution of the Centrist Reform Party, ``Association for Democratic Reform.'' This was revealed by multiple officials. The official decision will be made on the 16th. It has also been decided that middle-of-the-road representative Junya Ogawa will serve as the representative. The party will be formed within the week at the earliest.

The Chumichi Party held a general meeting of members on the 16th and reaffirmed that even after the party's dissolution, the Ritsumeikan and Komeito factions will form a unified faction in the House of Representatives and will continue to work together primarily on dealing with the Diet. The Komeito-affiliated party plans to rejoin the Komeito party before the extraordinary Diet session is convened, which is expected to occur in early October.

The centrist Ritsumeikan Democratic Party held a meeting inside the Diet on the 15th. Given that Ritsumeikan's roots lie in the Democratic Party, it was agreed that the new party's name should be either ``New Democratic Party'' or ``Democratic Reform Party.'' After discussions with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, it was decided that the party would be called the Democratic Reform Association in order to make it easier to distinguish it from other parties that include the word ``democratic'' in its name.
