There was a shocking report of an industrial safety accident in Yilan Science Park this morning! During the exterior wall cleaning operation of the Phase I factory office building at No. 15 Yike South Road, it was suspected that the large crane overturned due to the unstable center of gravity. As a result, the two workers in the crane fell heavily from a height to the ground on the spot. The accident caused a 65-year-old worker named Chen to be critically injured on the spot and a 63-year-old worker named Ye was seriously injured and sent to the hospital.

After receiving the report from the park at 8:49, the Yilan County Fire Department immediately dispatched the Yilan and Yuanshan teams to rescue. When the ambulance crew arrived, they found two male injured lying on the ground. Among them, the 65-year-old worker named Chen lost his breathing and heartbeat on the spot. Although another 63-year-old worker surnamed Ye was conscious, his left thigh was severely injured and fractured. He was then sent to Yangda Affiliated Hospital by Yuanshan 91 vehicle for treatment. The whole accident resulted in one life-threatening injury and one serious injury. Currently, the labor inspection unit has intervened in the investigation to clarify the cause of the accident.

The scene of the accident was shocking. The yellow boom and work basket of the large crane fell heavily on the stone sidewalk outside the factory office building. The basket turned sideways and broken stones, branches, red plastic boxes and various working tools were scattered around. The flat walkway was damaged by the powerful impact. People on the side were anxiously contacting each other. It was obvious that the force of the fall was extremely strong at the moment.

From another angle, the entire body of the yellow heavy-duty crane is turned upside down at nearly 90 degrees. The rear wheels are completely suspended in the air. The huge body is stuck between the green belt next to the glass lighting cover. The hydraulic support frame has obviously failed or the foundation is unstable.
