A random stabbing incident occurred early in the morning in Madou, Tainan, and two elderly women were injured

Early in the morning in Madou, Tainan, it was reported that a man suspected of being mentally ill was stabbing people randomly with a fruit knife, injuring two elderly women. The man was shot by the police, subdued, arrested and sent to hospital. (provided by the public)

Today (13th) at nearly 7 o'clock in the morning in Madou, Tainan, there was a report that a 64-year-old man was suspected of being in poor mental condition and randomly stabbed people with a knife. Two elderly women were scratched by the knife. After receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene and shot and subdued the man. Two police officers were also slightly injured during the suppression process. The suspect, an injured female elder and a police officer were all sent to the hospital. Fortunately, they were all conscious. The entire case is under investigation by the police.

At about 6:50 this morning, a man was reported near Liming Middle School in Madou, Tainan, who was suspected of being mentally ill. He was holding a fruit knife and swung it at passers-by. Two elderly women were injured. After receiving the report, the police immediately rushed to the scene and fired 2 shots to subdue the man. The man was shot in the left thigh. He was restrained by the police and taken to the hospital. He was conscious.

A female elder in her 70s suffered a knife wound and was sent to the hospital by Tainan City Fire Department ambulance personnel. Another female elder was sent to the hospital by her family members. When two police officers suppressed the suspect, one was scratched by a knife and sent to the hospital, while the other suffered abrasions and did not seek medical treatment.
