China-Singapore Jingwei, June 11th: On Wednesday Eastern Time, the three major U.S. stock indexes collectively fell. As of the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.87% to 49918.78 points, the Nasdaq fell 1.98% to 25169.5 points, and the S&P 500 Index fell 1.62% to 7266.99 points.

On the market, most large technology stocks fell, with Tesla and Nvidia falling by more than 3%, Amazon, Google, and Facebook falling by more than 2%, Microsoft falling by 1.5%, and Apple rising by 0.35%.
Chip stocks fell across the board, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index falling 3.57%. Qualcomm fell nearly 7%, ARM, Marvell Technology, and Broadcom fell more than 5%, and AMD Semiconductor and Micron Technology fell more than 4%.
Most bank stocks fell, with Goldman Sachs falling more than 3%, JPMorgan Chase and Morgan Stanley falling more than 1%, Citigroup falling nearly 1%, Wells Fargo falling 0.04%, and Bank of America rising 0.21%.
Airlines stocks generally fell, with United Airlines falling more than 6%, Delta Air Lines falling more than 5%, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines falling more than 4%, and Boeing falling more than 2%.
Most energy stocks rose, with ConocoPhillips rising more than 2%, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, and Occidental Petroleum rising more than 1%, and Schlumberger falling 0.6%.
Chinese concept stocks had mixed gains and losses, with the Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index falling 0.28%. In terms of popular Chinese concept stocks, Bawangchaji rose by more than 7%, Qifu Technology rose by more than 4%, NetEase and Zai Lab rose by more than 3%, Bilibili, Yum China, and Tiger Securities rose by more than 2%, GDS fell by more than 7%, Canadian Solar and Century Internet fell by more than 5%, Hesai Technology and Pony.ai fell by more than 4%, and JinkoSolar, Xpeng Motors, and Alibaba fell by more than 3%.
In the news, data released by the U.S. Department of Labor on the 10th showed that due to the continued rise in energy costs, the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 4.2% year-on-year in May, which was higher than 3.8% in April and the highest level since May 2023. In May, CPI and core CPI increased by 0.5% and 0.2% month-on-month respectively. Analysts believe that the latest inflation data means that Americans are facing higher costs of living and will also put greater pressure on the U.S. Federal Reserve's monetary policy.
In terms of European stock markets, the Financial Times 100 stock average price index of the London stock market closed at 10254.81 points on the 10th, an increase of 27.48 points or 0.27% from the previous trading day; the CAC40 index of the Paris stock market in France closed at 10254.81 points on the 10th, an increase of 27.48 points or 0.27% from the previous trading day. It closed at 8161.83 points, down 41.60 points or 0.51% from the previous trading day; the DAX index in Frankfurt, Germany closed at 24195.31 points, down 237.75 points or 0.97% from the previous trading day.
International oil prices rose on the 10th. As of the close of the day, WTI July crude oil futures closed up $1.83, or 2.07%, at $90.03/barrel; Brent August crude oil futures closed up $1.65, or 1.80%, at $93.10/barrel.
Gold and silver prices have collectively retreated. As of press time, spot gold fell 4.44% to US$4,071.67 per ounce, and spot silver fell 2.94% to US$63.39 per ounce.
