The "2026 Taiwan International Children and Youth Carnival" made its grand debut at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. The number of admissions on the first day exceeded the 100,000 mark. In the evening, all limited-edition gifts were redeemed, kicking off the grand holiday event in southern Taiwan.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau pointed out that as soon as the exhibition opened, there were long queues of people. Not only was the popular idol "Rescue Hero Boli" loved by children, leading the singing and screaming, but the exhibition area was also thoughtfully planned to allow for the dual experience of dynamic exploration and static reading and listening.

Many parents who entered with strollers praised it. The spacious circulation and comfortable environment allow adults to browse the book fair leisurely and choose books, and children can also participate in exclusive age-specific activities. They call it "the first choice place for education and discharge during the holidays."

After dark, the activity's popularity reached its peak. The Paper Windmill Theater Company joined hands with the "Come to Come True Fire Dance Troupe" to perform the classic drama "Zhuge Shilang" on the outdoor stage, attracting more than 5,000 audiences and crowding the stage lawn. The performance perfectly blended compact martial arts, humorous dialogues and shocking visuals of fire dance. The audience burst into laughter and exclamation, marking the most dazzling end to the first night of the holiday.

The Kaohsiung Municipal Library stated that this year’s carnival will last until the 27th (Sunday). Reading workshops with different themes, author book signings and diverse cross-border performances will be arranged every day. Adults and children across Taiwan are invited to visit the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center during the Autumn Festival holiday to experience a cultural feast that combines reading, art and interaction.
