The active phase of the CSTO exercises “Rubezh-2026” has begun in Kazakhstan

The active phase of the joint exercises “Rubezh-2026” has begun in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which will end on September 18. Military contingents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, as well as operational groups of the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat are participating in them. This was reported on the official website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

“The exercises are being conducted in the context of an aggravation of the crisis in the system of international relations and the persistence of conflict potential in the Central Asian region. Collective rapid deployment forces must be in constant readiness to conduct joint operations in the CSTO area of ​​responsibility,” said Deputy Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Mirlan Turgunbekov.

During the exercises, issues of preparing and conducting combat operations to destroy illegal armed groups that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state are worked out. According to Major General Askar Zholamanov, the troops will thoroughly prepare forces and means to prevent and eliminate sources of threats associated with terrorism, separatism and extremism.
