2026 Chiayi City Light Weaving and Shadow Dance Light and Shadow Art Exhibition debuts, creating an immersive exhibition area with the theme of Winnie the Pooh

The "2026 Light and Shadow Dance" light and shadow art exhibition organized by the Chiayi City Government extended its creativity with the theme of the 100th anniversary of Disney's classic story "Winnie the Pooh" and created 10 immersive exhibition areas in the "Light and Shadow Forest". It debuted at Beixianghu Park today, attracting a large number of people to participate in the event.

Tonight's opening party featured a relay of performances by three talented singers from across generations. Sun Shumei, known as the "Taiwanese version of Jennie," took the lead, followed by "Taiwanese singer" Huang Fei's classic songs, and finally, the double winner of golden songs and Golden Bell, "National Uncle" Luo Shifeng made the final appearance. Red balloons were specially distributed at the event, allowing children of all ages to hold balloons and walk through the forest of light and shadow, which became a scenery in the exhibition area.

Chiayi Mayor Huang Minhui said that the emotion of "walking together and working together" is just like the journey that the city government team has gone through over the years. She looks forward to this year's "Light and Shadow Forest" full of children's fun and imagination, so that citizens and friends can feel the beautiful power of companionship, sharing and mutual support in light and shadow art and fairy tale scenes.

Zheng Yawen, director of the City Government's Tourism Information Office, said that Beixiang Lake Park has a long history. From being one of the Eight Scenic Spots in history, it is now an important resting and sightseeing area for citizens. Along the way, we have seen not only changes in the environment, but also changes in Chiayi City. Memories accumulated step by step, now Beixianghu Park has become the venue for Chiayi City's Mid-Autumn Festival brand event "Light Weaving and Shadow Dance". Through the combination of light and shadow art, natural landscape and festive atmosphere, it continues to create memories of warm autumn nights in Chiayi City.

The Municipal Government’s Tourism Information Office stated that in the first week of this year’s program, popular casts such as Chen Hua, Ba Sanyao, Wei Jiaying, Qiu Fengze and the Light and Shadow Stunt Show will be invited to take over the stage. In the second week of the weekend, on October 3rd and 4th, Wu Guanda will be invited to perform. Artists, Jia Jia, Xiao Jinghong and Li Shengjie performed continuously. In the last week from October 9th to October 11th, Alan Ku, Qiu Zhenzhe, Cai Minyou, Lin Fan, Hong Peiyu, Peng Jiahui and Magic Light Circus Show were invited to the stage.

"2026 Chiayi City Light Weaving and Shadow Dance - Light and Shadow Art Exhibition" will be on display from September 25 to October 11, with a total of 17 days, every day at 4 p.m. "Sweet Market" is open, with 60 stalls gathering special food, cultural and creative brands and lifestyle products. During the event, a "Mobile Honey Jar" ancient egg ice cart was specially built to transform into childlike Easter eggs in the exhibition area. The Beixiang Lake exhibition area will be lit up at 6 p.m. People across the country are welcome to enter the light and shadow festival to explore the fantasy world and feel the charm of the autumn night where light and shadow art, natural scenery and urban life are intertwined.
