Russian grain supplies to Kazakhstan tripled in April 2026

At the end of April 2026, the total cost of Russian grain supplies to Kazakhstan tripled compared to the same period in 2025. RIA Novosti reports with reference to data from the local Customs Service about a sharp increase in domestic products in the post-Soviet country.

During the reporting period, Russian exporters sent grain worth a total of $45 million to the neighboring country. For comparison: in April 2025 the figure was about 15 million.

Experts recorded the most rapid growth in the oat segment. Exports of this type of grain from Russia to Kazakhstan during this time increased more than 30 times, to 775.5 thousand dollars. Supplies of rye jumped 24 times (to 221.3 thousand dollars), buckwheat - almost 20 times (to 665.3 thousand), and grain sorghum - three times (to 126.2 thousand).

The most popular species have traditionally been wheat, barley and corn. Supplies of the first type of grain increased threefold over the year (to 38 million dollars), the second - by a quarter (to 3.6 million), and the third - doubled (to 1.5 million).
