2026 “Belt and Road” Media Cooperation Forum held in Fuzhou

China News Service, Fuzhou, November 3 (Yan Xu, Zheng Jiangluo) The 2026 "Belt and Road" Media Cooperation Forum was held in Fuzhou on the 3rd. More than 200 foreign representatives from 100 countries, international and regional organizations, and 182 media and institutions attended the meeting.

With the theme of "United Aspirations Across Mountains and Seas, Gathering Voices along the Silk Road", this forum will conduct dialogue and exchanges around the role of the media in creating a good international public opinion atmosphere for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road". The “Belt and Road” Media Cooperation Fuzhou Initiative was released at the forum.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Pavel Negoica, president of Russia's Rossiya Gazeta, said that the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative has received widespread attention and expectations from the international community. Russia actively promotes the docking of the Greater Eurasian Partnership and the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative. The media should play an active role and contribute to deepening mutual understanding and enhancing friendship between people of all countries.

Galina Beterek, president of Kyrgyzstan's "Standard" Information Publishing Group, looks forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with Chinese media in the fields of digital transformation, multimedia content production and artificial intelligence applications, and creating more opportunities for the growth of young journalists through joint training, internship exchanges and other methods.

Oleg Kopelov, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, said that member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization continue to put forward initiatives to deepen media cooperation. The SCO Secretariat is willing to continue to deepen practical cooperation in the media field, promote media exchanges and collaborations in various countries, and better tell the story of the SCO and the Belt and Road Initiative to the international community.

The forum will include an opening ceremony, a display of the achievements of the Belt and Road Initiative, the fourth council meeting of the Belt and Road News Cooperation Alliance, and three sub-forums including the 2026 Belt and Road Regional Cooperation Forum, the 12th ASEAN and China, Japan and South Korea Media Cooperation Seminar, and the 2026 Silk Road Civilization Development Forum.
