Meteorologist Leus called the summer of 2026 the warmest in Russian history

Leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, Mikhail Leus, called the summer of 2026 in Russia the warmest in the history of regular weather observations. He wrote about this in the Telegram channel.

According to Leus, the hot weather spared Moscow and St. Petersburg, but in many other regions of Russia the summer season broke temperature records. In particular, record figures were recorded in the Urals and Siberia.

“Across the country, the summer of 2026 became the warmest in the history of regular weather observations, that is, since 1891. On Asian territory, last summer was also the warmest in the recorded history,” he noted.

The expert noted that the summer was also record warm in Canada, the USA, Europe and North Africa.
