2026 KBS Yangyang National Cycling Championships will be held in Yangyang from the 20th to the 27th.

15 events including sprint, bicycle racing, and individual road… Top domestic players participating

(Yangyang = Yonhap News) Reporter Ryu Ho-jun = Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do announced on the 17th that the '2026 KBS Yangyang National Cycling Championships' will be held at Yangyang Cycling Stadium and roads in Yangyang-gun from the 20th to 27th.

About 1,100 people, including 150 teams and players and officials from across the country, will participate in this competition.

Hosted by the Korea Bicycle Federation and co-hosted by the Korea Bicycle Federation, Korea Unemployed Cyclists Federation, and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Bicycle Federation, it consists of a total of 15 events, including 13 track events and 2 road events.

In the first half of the competition, from the 20th to the 25th, track competitions such as sprint, keirin, individual/group pursuit, scratch, point, omnium, and medicine will be held at Yangyang Cycling Stadium.

Then, on the 25th and 26th, road solo and individual road races will be held on roads throughout Yangyang-gun.

The road solo race will be held over a 21km section for the women's general division and a 42km section for the men's general division, and the individual road race will be held over a 92.8km section for the women's general division and a 138.4km section for the men's general division to determine the winner.

On the 27th, the last day of the competition, the 'Masters R-League' will be held for hobbyists using a 70km section of a private road course, providing a venue for a festival where elite sports and daily sports come together.

The county also expects the effect of revitalizing the local economy due to the athletes' visit during the tournament.

A military official said, "We ask for the cooperation of residents as traffic control on some road sections is inevitable," and added, "We hope for a lot of interest and support so that the players can show off their best skills."
