Gianni Infantino will run for FIFA President in 2027

The head of the International Football Federation, Gianni Infantino, has decided to participate in the election of the organization's president in 2027. Journalist Rob Harris reported this on the social network X.

“Of course, nothing has changed. Mr. Infantino will stand for re-election,” one of the representatives said.

Earlier it became known that the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) wants to initiate a criminal case against Infantino. The reason was his attempt to sell the rights to host the World Cup to private investors.

Earlier, at the end of July, it became known about FIFA’s plans to create the FIFA Forward Enterprise, a new commercial structure for selling rights to the World Cup. Infantino abandoned this idea amid criticism from football confederations and the threat of a boycott of the World Cup by UEFA member countries.
