Dmitry Igdisamov set a CSKA record for an unbeaten streak at the start of the RPL

CSKA Moscow head coach Dmitry Igdisamov has not lost a single one of his nine matches in the Russian Premier League since his appointment. Opta reports this.

This achievement is a record among CSKA coaches. Igdisamov became the first mentor of the army team with such an unbeaten streak at the start of his work in the RPL. Among all the league coaches, he was the first to show such a result since Marko Nikolic, who took charge of Lokomotiv in 2020 and lost for the first time in the 12th match.

The last of nine matches was CSKA's away victory over Zenit with a score of 2:1 in the seventh round of the current season. After the game, Igdisamov commented on the victory: “I am pleased with how the players played, they carried out the game plan from start to finish. […] I said that there would be a difficult moment that we would have to endure and after it find our chance.”

Thanks to the victory, CSKA scored 15 points and moved up to third place in the standings, beating Zenit. Among Russian coaches, the last to give such a start was Vladimir Eshtrekov, under whom Lokomotiv lost for the first time in 2005 only in the 16th match.
