From 2027, the national vaccination calendar will gradually include vaccinations against meningococcus, human papillomavirus, rotavirus and chickenpox.

All vaccines included in the national calendar must be produced in Russia.

Vaccines against human papillomavirus and meningococcal infection are already being produced in Russia and will soon go into public circulation.

VOLGOGRAD, September 29 - RIA Novosti. Vaccinations against meningococcus, human papillomavirus, rotavirus and chickenpox will appear in the national vaccination calendar in stages from 2027, Leila Namazova-Baranova, president of the Union of Pediatricians of Russia, chief freelance pediatric specialist in preventive medicine of the Russian Ministry of Health, told RIA Novosti.

“It is necessary to expand the (vaccination) calendar, and the state has such plans, according to the national strategy. Expansion is planned for 2027 to include vaccination against meningococcus and human papillomavirus infection. There are also plans to expand with two more vaccines - against rotavirus infection and chickenpox,” the expert said.

Namazova-Baranova noted that all vaccines included in the national calendar must be produced in Russia.

“Today, the vaccine against human papillomavirus is being produced on the territory of the Russian Federation, and it has already entered public circulation. The vaccine against meningococcal infection is also produced in Russia and will also appear in public circulation in the near future. Therefore, these two positions will soon be included in the national calendar. The vaccine against rotavirus infection is still at the research stage,” the specialist added.
