Xiushanli, Beitou District, is located at the foot of Guizikeng Mountain, adjacent to the "Taiwanese version of Furano" Sanzengqi Park. It is also an important node of the "Taipei Great Longitudinal Walk". Due to the high intensity of geological conditions such as rock slabs and pebbles, the complex distribution of underground pipelines, and limited construction space, the takeover rate was less than 30% as of June. Wang Kaimin, planning and design section chief of the Sanitary Sewerage Engineering Office of the Public Works Bureau, said that 56.828 million yuan has been allocated for the sewage takeover project. Construction will start in October. It is expected that when it is completed in 2028, more than 500 households will benefit and the takeover rate will reach 80%. Sanitary problems such as sewage overflow, water accumulation and odor will be improved, making residents and tourists feel more comfortable.

The Department of Health explains that the surrounding area of ​​Xiushanli is rich in natural landscapes and recreational resources. It is close to the famous "Taiwan version of Furano" flower sea sceneries such as Sanxieqi Park, Guizikeng Soil and Water Conservation Park and camping ground. It is also an important node on the first section of the "Taipei Longitudinal Walk" route. Due to the large changes in terrain height difference, complex construction conditions, high strength of rock slabs and pebbles, restricted distribution of underground pipelines, and limited construction space, the public sewage and sewer system has not been included for a long time.

In the past, some residents mainly relied on sewage treatment facilities in existing buildings. If the facilities are old or have insufficient treatment efficiency, they are more likely to have sanitary problems such as sewage overflows, water accumulation, and odors, causing inconvenience to residents and affecting the quality of surrounding leisure. As of the end of June, the takeover rate was only 29.99%.

Wang Kaimin said that after compiling geology, underground pipelines, terrain elevation and other data, conducting multiple on-site surveys and assessing the feasibility of the project, a briefing meeting was held in July to communicate and coordinate with the district chief Chen Shoupeng and local residents, and carefully study the takeover plan. The design of the sewage sewer network for surrounding buildings such as Lane 502, Lane 474, Lane 458 of Zhonghe Street and Lane 60 of Xiushan Road will be completed in phases. Construction will begin in October, with the goal of gradually completing the takeover operations before May 2028.

Wang Kaimin pointed out that after the takeover work is completed, the takeover rate is expected to exceed 80% and more than 500 households will benefit. According to further statistics on the city, as of the end of August, the penetration rate of public sewage and sewer connected households in Taipei City was 83.71%, serving approximately 970,000 households.
