21-year-old woman stabbed to death in West Delhi's Tilak Nagar

A 21-year-old woman was found stabbed to death inside her home in west Delhi's Tilak Nagar on Wednesday evening, police said. The woman, identified as Muskan, a student and a model was alone at home when she was allegedly attacked. She suffered multiple stab wounds to her abdomen and other parts of her body. She was rushed to a hospital after police received a PCR call about the incident. Doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Police have identified Imran, a gym trainer, as the main suspect. He fled after the incident, prompting multiple police teams to launch a search for him. The woman and the suspect had known each other for around one-and-a-half years, according to police. Relatives and neighbours told investigators that they had often seen the gym trainer in the area. They also said he had allegedly been pursuing Muskan, who was suspected to have rejected him. "A woman, around 21 years of age, was stabbed to death when she was alone at her residence. CCTV footage is being examined and police investigation is under way," a senior police officer said.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area and scanning the woman's phone for possible leads. Police have also raided the gym where the suspect worked and his home. His family members and friends have been questioned as part of the investigation. The woman's parents appeared to be unaware of her friendship with the gym trainer, an officer said. Her body has been preserved in a mortuary and a postmortem examination is scheduled for Thursday morning.

Tension was reported in the locality after the killing, with police deployment stepped up in the area. Police said the woman and the suspect belong to different faiths. Officials are maintaining a presence in the locality as the investigation continues. The motive behind the killing has not yet been officially established.
