Iran's Revolutionary Guard claims ballistic missile attack on U.S. ship

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kang Hoon-sang = Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed on the 6th that it attacked a U.S. aircraft carrier and a destroyer with several ballistic missiles on the 5th (local time).

The Revolutionary Guard announced, "These warships belonging to the U.S. Navy, a child-killing army, have been sabotaging Iranian ships and participating in maritime blockades," and added, "After suffering damage, they were forced to hastily retreat from the conflict zone for fear of further attacks."

He continued, “The aggressor, who had been exercising his power in the Middle East with false arrogance and false claims, had no choice but to officially acknowledge today’s attack,” adding, “This is living proof of the enemy’s strategic defeat and proof of the Revolutionary Guard’s offensive power.”

He warned, "If the US regime's aggressive and hostile actions continue, we will have to prepare for a devastating response from the Iranian military."

Previously, the U.S. Central Command issued a statement on the 5th, saying, "After Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired ballistic missiles at two U.S. Navy warships patrolling the sea area, the U.S. military struck three Iranian crude oil transport ships," and stated that no damage was caused to U.S. Navy ships due to the Iranian attack.
