وقال الرئيس البرازيلي: «في 4 أكتوبر (تشرين الأول) المقبل، يتوجّه ملايين البرازيليين إلى صناديق الاقتراع لرسم مستقبلهم. وهم لن يصوّتوا لرئيس للجمهورية وحكّام ولايات ونوّاب في الكونغرس فقط... بل إنهم سيختارون أيضاً بين الديمقراطية ونكران» الديمقراطية.

وأقرّ الرئيس البرازيلي بأن الرغبة في التغيير «مشروعة»، لكن «ينبغي ألا تؤدّي إلى التقهقر».

وصرّح: «التغيير يعني التقدّم نحو مستقبل أوسع تشاركية... ويقضي الأمر باستحداث حلول عامة ناجعة في وجه تحدّيات التنمية وتشاركها، في إطار ديمقراطي متين وفعّال».

ويحظى فلافيو بولسونارو؛ نجل الرئيس البرازيلي السابق اليميني جايير بولسونارو (2019 - 2022)، بتأييد متصاعد مع اقتراب موعد الجولة الأولى في 4 أكتوبر المقبل، وبات يحظى بنيات تصويت متساوية مع الرئيس اليساري المنتهية ولايته.

وأُسقطت الملاحقات في حقّ متهمين آخرين لعدم كفاية الأدلة. وقال رافيكاس لوكالة الصحافة الفرنسية «لا تزال هناك إجراءات يجب استكمالها» قبل الوصول إلى مرحلة المحاكمة.

من جهته، رحب الرئيس الأرجنتيني خافيير ميلي بالقرار، وكتب على منصة «إكس»: «الأخلاق كسياسة للدولة».
