In the Nizhny Novgorod region, they decided to recruit volunteers from fitness category “D” into the BARS detachment. This became known from the division’s publication on the Telegram channel.

Category “D” means the highest degree of unfitness for military service. It is prescribed for severe chronic diseases and persistent disorders of body functions, including the presence of terminal HIV infection, schizophrenia or the absence of limbs.

“This applies to combat veterans who were injured during service and whose health condition allows them to perform duties in specific military positions,” the post states.

The contract for volunteers is for three years. All age restrictions will also be lifted for them. The detachment noted that the decision on the possible conclusion of a contract is made after a medical examination and with a positive conclusion from the military medical commission (MMC).
