China News Service, Xi'an, September 29 (Reporter Alina) The launch of the 14th Shaanxi Provincial Reading Culture Festival and the "Three Qin Four Seasons·Reading and Seeing Beauty" National Reading and Recital Concert were held in Xi'an on the evening of the 28th.
According to reports, the 14th Shaanxi Provincial Reading Culture Festival is hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Library, Shaanxi Experimental Theater and municipal culture and tourism bureaus. With the theme of "Three Qin Four Seasons·Bookish Shaanxi", it aims to fully implement the "Regulations on the Promotion of National Reading" and further polish the golden sign of "Bookish Shaanxi".

That night, the national reading and recitation concert slowly began with the simple and high-pitched singing of Zhou Lin and Hao Huhu, the representative inheritors of northern Shaanxi folk songs intangible cultural heritage. Famous recitation masters, representatives of various industries and recitation enthusiasts of different ages from both inside and outside the province performed on the same stage, using their voices to interpret the power of reading.
In the first chapter "You are the most beautiful when you read", "The Reader in the Light and Shadow" outlines the moving silhouette of the reader; the fragment of "The Ordinary World" allows the fighting spirit in Lu Yao's writing to reach people's hearts across time and space; "The Reader is the Happy Person" shows the universal value of reading across occupations and ages.

The second chapter, "The Fragrance of Books Spreads to Thousands of Households," focuses on grassroots reading promotion and the inheritance of local cultural heritage. "Drama and Books·Meet the Protagonist" realizes a cross-border dialogue between literature and opera; "The Lamp that Lights the Book" tells the story of the perseverance of grassroots reading promoters, and "The Sound of Books in Bahe·On the White Deer Plain" awakens the literary memory of the Three Qin Dynasty.
In the third chapter "Praise for the New Era", "Echoes of Victory in the Red Radio Waves" relived the revolutionary years, "Magnificent Mountains and Rivers" demonstrated the responsibility of the guardian of the new era, and Wen Yujuan, winner of the Plum Blossom Award for Drama, ignited the enthusiasm of the audience with her song "Youth China". At the end of the session, Wen Yujuan led the recitation of "China with a Capital Capital", and students from Xi'an No. 89 Middle School responded in unison. The atmosphere at the scene reached a climax when all the actors and the audience sang the melody of "Ode to the Motherland" in unison.

According to reports, this Reading Culture Festival will last until October 28. In addition to the launch ceremony, a series of key activities will also be launched: Shaanxi Cultural Lecture Hall will invite experts and scholars from multiple fields to hold 5 theme lectures; a series of youth and children's reading activities will benefit urban and rural children through picture book story-telling activities and "Starlight Cloud Classroom"; special group reading service activities will link up with multiple organizations to carry out targeted services to ensure key groups. Sports and cultural rights; the Civilized New Fashion Literature Tasting Tour will be conducted in the form of immersive drama in government agencies, schools, military camps and other places; public libraries at all levels and new public cultural spaces across the province will carry out a tour of Shaanxi ancient local chronicles documents, release of the Shaanxi Provincial Historical Document Database, promotion of the 2026 Shiqu Book List and other activities; the "Reading+" online activity will stimulate the public's enthusiasm for co-creation through short video collection, reading story sharing and other forms.
From the sound of reciting in the theater to the infiltration of books throughout the province, the 14th Shaanxi Provincial Reading Culture Festival is promoting the integration of reading into daily life in multiple forms, allowing the brand connotation of "Three Qin and Four Seasons·Bookish Shaanxi" to bloom even more brilliantly in the new era.
