Report on letter from Trump aide causes controversy over Democratic lawmaker's sarcasm

The relationship between the two has sparked controversy after a lawmaker from the opposition Democratic Party questioned their closeness.

In the two letters, written in 2023, Harp also described Trump as "my guardian in life" and "I don't want to disappoint you." According to US media, Harp worked as a conservative TV show host before serving as Trump's secretary since 2022. Currently, he is nicknamed the ``Human Printer'' because he frequently prints out articles he thinks he might like and hands them to him. He reportedly helps Trump with his social media posts and sometimes posts on his behalf.

Mr. Harp gained attention after an incident in July when Mr. Trump returned from a visit to Turkey. In response to Iranian assassination threats, Mr. Trump and some of his aides, including Mr. Harp, secretly switched from the presidential plane to a military jet. Meanwhile, Secretary of State Rubio and Treasury Secretary Bessent remained on the special plane, which served as a "decoy."

Regarding this, Sen. Ossoff, who is being named as a Democratic candidate for the next presidential election, said at a rally in the run-up to the midterm elections, ``Mr. Trump wants to travel with Natalie,'' making a sarcastic comment about the closeness of the relationship between the two. The White House defended Ms. Harp, saying, ``Mr. Harp is one of the most loyal and hard-working employees on the team,'' but Mr. Harp's brother appeared on CNN and expressed doubts, saying, ``[Her sister] is unhealthyly attached.''
