This morning, the Qingyuan District Government of Baoding City, Hebei Province, China issued a notice on its official website stating that a bridge fell accident occurred at a construction site in Qingyuan District, injuring three workers and a truck driver, two of whom were seriously injured.

According to comprehensive Chinese media reports, at 10:50 this morning, the Qingyuan District Fire Rescue Brigade received a notification that the bridge body fell during the steel truss pushing operation at the construction site of the district's cross-Cangyu Expressway (K105+550 in the direction of Cangzhou). After the accident, the district government immediately mobilized health, emergency response, police, firefighting and other units to carry out personnel rescue, traffic diversion, and hidden danger inspection. It was initially confirmed that the accident injured three workers and a passing truck driver. Two of the workers were seriously injured. All the injured were sent to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

At present, we are speeding up the processing of the scene to ensure that the Cangyu Expressway can be reopened to traffic as soon as possible. The investigation of the cause of the accident and the aftermath are also in progress.

Several netizens posted on the social platform that a viaduct collapsed on the Cangyu Expressway section of the South Third Ring Road in Baoding City, Hebei Province, and people were suspected to be injured at the scene. Videos circulated in the community showed that the truss bridge above the open section collapsed onto the road, the steel structure of the bridge was deformed, and vehicles were damaged at the scene. One of the red trucks had a severely deformed front, and debris was scattered on the road, making the road impassable. The traffic police brigade in the jurisdiction stated that the highway section is not currently open to traffic, and the collapsed bridge is still lying on the road and is waiting for a crane to handle it. The Baoding Emergency Management Bureau said that staff have gone to the scene to deal with it. Whether anyone is injured is still being confirmed.
