Aubameyang scored a fatal goal in the 88th minute after the match was heading towards a 2-2 draw, as Ivorian Nicolas Pepe had scored the lead goal for Villarreal in the 19th minute, then Luisme Cruz equalized for Deportivo in the 43rd minute.
