An earthquake of magnitude 3.3-3.4 was recorded in southwest Germany

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 to 3.4 occurred near the city of Mannheim on the border of the regions of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate in southwestern Germany.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in the municipality of Worms, north of Mannheim.

There was no information about the damage that the earthquake could cause.

“During the day, an earthquake shook the region on the border between Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. According to preliminary data from the Helmholtz Center for Geological Research and the State Seismological Service of Baden-Württemberg, the magnitude of the earthquake was 3.3 and 3.4, respectively,” the material says.

According to a preliminary analysis by the Southwestern Seismological Service of Germany, the epicenter of the earthquake was in the municipality of Worms, north of Mannheim. Tremors were felt both in Worms itself and in Mannheim. The geological office of Baden-Württemberg classified the earthquake as "weak" and noted that it could be felt within a radius of 20 kilometers from the epicenter, Bild reported.
