Zhejiang Yiwu Railway's new station opens and can handle 30 million passengers per year

The station has 11 stations and 27 lines, and has an annual passenger transport capacity of 30 million passengers.

Yiwu is the most populous county-level city in Zhejiang and is known as the "Small Commodity Capital of the World". It currently has nearly 40,000 resident foreigners. Yiwu Railway Station is the county-level railway station with the largest passenger flow in the province, with an average of about 1,000 foreign passengers entering and exiting every day.

"I often come to Yiwu to purchase goods and have been to the station many times. The changes this time have been great. The whole thing is very modern and the entry line is simpler." On that day, Salisu, a buyer from Nigeria, said that because he often comes to Yiwu, he is proud of the new changes here. It is worth mentioning that the new railway station in Yiwu that was officially opened this time is the first station in China to be constructed above a continuously operating line. After 46 months, the construction team advanced the construction without affecting the normal operation of the railway, which is equivalent to "building a house" on top of the speeding train.

"On average, more than 200 trains pass through the Yiwu Railway Station every day, and the shortest running gap is only 4 minutes. It is necessary to ensure that the station's passenger transport function and main line traffic are always unaffected." Huang Debao, director of the Yiwu Station Project of China Railway Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., said. To this end, the project innovatively adopts the "sub-site zoning and section switching" plan to suspend passenger transportation at the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway and the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway.

At present, the Yiwu Railway Station is connected to the existing Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway, Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Railway, Shanghai-Kunming Railway, Ningbo-Ningbo Railway and other railways.
