(Ulsan = Yonhap News) Reporter Jang Young-eun = Ulju-gun, Ulsan, announced on the 10th that it will build a 36-hole Ulju Park Golf Course in Gosan-ri, Onyang-eup, Ulju-gun at a cost of 3.1 billion won and operate it from January next year.

This is the first 36-hole park golf course in the Ulju-gun area.

Ulju-gun was previously selected for a contest for idle railway land and began building the Ulju Park Golf Course.

After completion this month, pilot operations will begin in October, and the facility will open in earnest starting next year.

Ulju-gun has good transportation convenience as Namchang Station is located near the site where Ulju Park Golf Course is built, and it is close to Oegosan Onggi Village, a representative tourist attraction in Ulju-gun, so it can be used in conjunction with the Onggi Festival, so many visitors are expected to visit.

The area where Ulju Park Golf Course will be built is a restricted development zone managed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, so prior consultation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport was necessary to promote the project.

Ulju-gun surveyed the number of Park Golf Course users, explained the problem of lack of facilities and the need for 36 holes, and completed a railroad safety review based on a ground survey to obtain smooth approval.

In Ulsan, there are seven park golf courses in the Ulju-gun area, including two in Beomseo (18 holes) and Cheongnyang (18 holes), Nam-gu Grand Park (18 holes), two Taehwa Rivers (36 holes), Jung-gu Dongcheon (27 holes), Dong-gu Soepyeong (18 holes), and Buk-gu Jinjang (27 holes).
