US Ambassador to South Africa summoned to Foreign Ministry due to undiplomatic behavior

US Ambassador to South Africa Brent Bozell was summoned to the South African Foreign Ministry due to his undiplomatic behavior.

MOSCOW, September 29 - RIA Novosti. The South African Ministry of Foreign Affairs again summoned the US Ambassador to the country Brent Bozell because of his “undiplomatic behavior”; he was given a demarche, the South African broadcaster SABC reports, citing a senior South African Foreign Ministry official.

“For the third time in nine months, Bozell has been called in to explain what the Department of International Relations and Cooperation calls “undiplomatic behavior,” the newspaper reports.

Earlier, the South African edition of Daily Maverick published an article by Bozell, in which he criticized the South African authorities, saying that they do not respond to a number of requests from Washington on the country’s domestic policy.

Relations between Washington and Pretoria have deteriorated significantly after US President Donald Trump's statements about the oppression of the white population in South Africa. South African authorities have repeatedly rejected such claims, pointing out that crime problems affect all segments of the population.
