The share of cash payments in Russia increased to 32% in the second quarter

The share of cash payments in retail payments in the second quarter reached 32%.

A year earlier, the share of cash payments was 25%.

MOSCOW, September 11 - RIA Novosti. Russians began to pay in cash more often in stores - in the second quarter, their share in citizens’ payments increased to 32% versus 25% a year earlier, Dmitry Batyushenkov, head of the OFD Platform company, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“Cash spending - many predicted that it would disappear due to the inconvenience of paying in banknotes. However, the situation this year suggests that this is unlikely to happen. The share of cash payments is more than 30%, and obviously this method of payment will not go anywhere,” he noted.
