Russian drone attack on Kiev and other cities: eight injured and fire in a residential building

The Russian armed forces launched a drone attack on Kiev overnight. A nine-storey residential building in the Dniprovskyi neighborhood was hit, causing at least eight injuries and a huge fire. This was reported by local authorities. Overall, Russia has launched 66 drones on Ukrainian territory in the last few hours - according to the air force announcement - including over 50 of the Shahed type: the defenses shot down or neutralized 62 aircraft while four hit different locations. Two people were killed and three others injured in drone attacks in the Tula region of Russia, in the central part of the country.

Moscow yesterday attacked a shopping center in the center of Pavlohrad, in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, killing 4 people and wounding over 60.

Russia's conditions for a negotiated peace in Ukraine "have not changed" from what President Vladimir Putin said in 2024. That is, transfer to Russia of the four claimed Ukrainian regions (Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson) and Kiev's commitment not to join NATO. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Dmitry Medvedev, chairman of the United Russia party and vice-president of the Russian Security Council, warned that nuclear weapons "could be used in certain cases".

Two people were injured in a Russian bombing raid on Kiev, which caused damage and a fire in a nine-story residential building. The authorities of the Ukrainian capital reported this. Meanwhile, Ukraine attacked the city of Saratov, in the Russian hinterland, south-east of the capital Moscow, regional governor Roman Busargin announced, adding that "some infrastructure was damaged by a drone attack".

Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels showed footage of fires at an oil refinery and a warehouse of the Russian e-commerce giant Ozon. The company confirmed that the drones hit a logistics center and caused a fire.
