US Central Command announces F-35A patrols over territorial waters as the naval blockade of Iran continues

(CNN) - The US Central Command (Centcom) announced that an American F-35A stealth fighter is conducting patrols over territorial waters, in conjunction with the command’s forces continuing to impose the naval blockade on Iran.

She added that as of September 6, US forces had redirected 92 commercial ships, disabled 3 ships, and boarded two ships, as part of what she described as ensuring “strict compliance with instructions.”

Central Command accompanied its post with a video clip showing an F-35A fighter flying over the water, in a display of the US air presence in conjunction with ongoing naval operations.

This comes in light of the escalation of tensions related to maritime traffic off the Iranian coast, while American forces continue their operations in the region to put pressure on Tehran.
