The Israeli army suspects of planting an explosive device on the border with Syria and launches a drone at the suspects

According to military correspondent Avi Ashkenazi, a unit from the 595th Reconnaissance Battalion monitored the movements of three suspects from the Syrian side of the border fence, and surveillance showed that they were digging or placing something on the ground, which raised the Israeli army’s suspicions that they were trying to plant an explosive device.

As a result, the army launched a drone towards the suspects, who immediately fled towards the east. Israeli estimates indicate that one of them was injured in the bombing, and the army is still verifying whether he was killed.

During the day, forces from the "Al-Bashan" division carried out extensive searches and cordons in the area, in an attempt to verify whether the device had actually been planted, and to determine the arrival and escape route of the three suspects.

This incident comes only one week after the "Al-Bashan" division conducted large-scale military exercises, which included simulating infiltration scenarios from Syrian territory to the Golan, as part of preparations to confront any potential threats on the northern border.
