China's space scientists performed the first precision laser cutting in orbit, using a robotic arm on the Tiangong space station to make millimetre-scale cuts operated remotely from Earth.
Cangyu Space Base organized China's first commercial high-orbit relay satellite system NTN key technology acceptance review in Shenzhen, and the project successfully passed. All 155 requirements of the ground verification system were met, all 106 test cases passed, and all 4 acceptance issues were closed loop, laying the foundation for the subsequent construction of commercial relay NTN systems.
The researchers developed a new method called FLIP, which uses machine learning algorithms to remove starlight from telescope observations. The sensitivity can be up to 15 times that of traditional exoplanet imaging methods. They successfully obtained the first image of 51 Eridani b, which may assist the observatory in identifying Earth-like exoplanets.

NASA's Swift space satellite telescope, which has been in service for 22 years, crashed into the atmosphere over Indonesia on the 4th at about 22 times the speed of sound and burned up. The observatory cost 500 million U.S. dollars and weighed 1.5 tons. It was launched in 2004. It was originally scheduled to have a lifespan of 2 years. It eventually exceeded the standard and served for 22 years. It observed rare astronomical phenomena such as gamma ray bursts and spawned about 7,000 scientific papers.

NASA's Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory re-entered Earth's atmosphere and burned up over Indonesia on Wednesday, less than three months after a rescue spacecraft failed to boost it to a higher orbit.
Based on the observation data of the independently developed AIMS telescope, the team of researcher Deng Yuanyong from the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences discovered for the first time that the magnetic field in the sun's lower atmosphere is significantly weakened during the outbreak of a solar flare. Relevant results have been published in Nature Astronomy.
