MOSCOW, September 12 - RIA Novosti. Iraqi authorities are closing the Shalamcheh checkpoint on the border with Iran as part of precautionary measures after an attack on an oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia, Reuters reports, citing two security sources.

"Iraqi authorities have ordered the closure of the Shalamcheh crossing on the border with Iran as a precaution following the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia," the agency said in a statement.

According to sources, a large-scale operation is currently underway to find those responsible for the attack on Saudi Arabia.
