[Sports Center/Comprehensive Report] The Dodgers announced a lineup change before the game today. 27-year-old Bobby Miller left the 60-day disabled list. As a corresponding move, right-hander Kyle Hurt was delegated to Triple-A, and former big-time outfielder Alek Thomas was designated for transfer (DFA).

Bobby Miller, who won 11 games as a rookie in 2023, was troubled by a shoulder injury the following year and fell into a serious slump. He only pitched 56 innings throughout the year and had an ERA of 8.52. Last year, Miller only pitched 5 innings in the major leagues with an ERA of 12.60. He was also demoted to 3A and transformed into a bullpen pitcher, but his performance did not improve much. In spring training this year, he was placed on the 60-day disabled list due to injury and did not return until August in 3A.

After Miller returned, he increased the use of curveballs and significantly reduced the use of sliders, which has achieved good results. He pitched 14 innings in Triple-A this season, had an ERA of 3.86, and struck out 17 times. The last time Miller played in the major leagues was on May 24, 2025, U.S. time. Now that he has returned to the major leagues, he has also added another available soldier to the Dodgers pitching staff that has been suffering from injuries recently.

As for Thomas, he was traded to the Dodgers after being DFAed by the Diamondbacks in May. He was called up to the major leagues due to Andy Pages' injury. Recently, he was demoted to 3A due to the return of many injured players from the Dodgers, and now he is DFAed again.
