Rubio announces the assignment of Witkoff and Kushner to peace negotiations in Ukraine and the Middle East

Rubio said in an interview with Fox Radio in response to a question about whether he intends to play a more prominent role in resolving conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East: “We have people whose job is to conduct negotiations on peaceful agreements. These are Steve Witkoff, and now Jared Kushner has joined that.”

He explained that Witkoff and Kushner "dedicate 100% of their time" to these files, noting that the administration forms separate teams for each direction in foreign policy, while working within the framework of a common approach.

In a related context, Rubio described the current stage as “a period of economic and geopolitical transition,” noting that many international problems “do not have simple answers, and sometimes do not have ideal solutions.”

He added that foreign policy often presents the American authorities with choices between “two far from ideal approaches,” and their mission is to determine the option that causes the least harm to the country’s interests.

These statements come at a time when the United States continues its diplomatic efforts to resolve international conflicts, with a special focus on the Ukrainian and Middle Eastern files, amid increasing geopolitical complexities on the global scene.
