Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan advocates the abolition of the Supervisory Yuan. However, the Kuomintang Central Committee has advocated "abolition of the people without abolishing the Yuan" and the party constitution emphasizes "separation of five powers." Kuomintang spokesperson Niu Xuting admitted that abolishing the Supervisory Yuan may not be achieved overnight, and that consensus must be built first before making a decision. Jiang Wanan said in an interview today (18th) that the Legislative Yuan could first freeze the operation of the Supervisory Yuan by completely rejecting the candidates, and then abolish it through constitutional amendment. He also said that he had communicated with the five legislators of Bei City.

The Presidential Office announced the list of 29 nominees for the 7th Supervisory Committee on the 11th. On the 12th, Jiang Wanan proposed the abolition of the Supervisory Yuan. He was interviewed before attending the Xinwei House Renovation Event today and was asked whether it was different from the Kuomintang's past spirit of "abolition of people without abolition of the Yuan" and the "separation of five powers" in the party constitution. and subsequent specific actions, emphasizing that during the past period, all people believed that the Control Yuan did not perform the functions it originally designed.

Jiang Wanan said that the Supervisory Yuan has lightly put aside the problems ranging from snack bar tenders to defense procurement cases and Chaosi Company’s high-priced egg imports, and even turned them into political favors or whitewashing for specific politicians. Therefore, he believes that now is not a discussion about nominees or whether individual candidates are suitable, but that we should think carefully about the issue of the existence and abolition of the Supervisory Yuan.

He believes that the Legislative Yuan caucus should first freeze the operation of the Supervisory Yuan through a comprehensive veto of the candidates this time, and then abolish the Supervisory Yuan through constitutional amendments. This is also the consistent position and advocate of the Democratic Progressive Party. He also said that he had communicated with the five legislators in North City and must respect the decision of the party group. The Kuomintang caucus has always had a high degree of autonomy. He believed that the caucus would discuss, exchange opinions and build consensus on this issue.
