In the Pskov region, investigators completed a criminal investigation into two businessman brothers for illegal logging worth 43 million rubles. The regional Ministry of Internal Affairs told Lenta.ru about this.

In the near future, the materials of their case will be sent to the court for consideration on the merits.

Security forces established that from August 2024 to March 2025, two brothers - managers of commercial enterprises - together with unidentified persons, illegally harvested wood in the Zhizhitsky forestry. However, they had neither a land lease agreement nor a purchase and sale agreement for forest plantations. Despite this, the “black loggers” cut down 386 spruce and one pine, cleared the trunks, sawed them into six-meter logs and transported them on tractors and other special equipment. Damage to the forest fund exceeded 43 million rubles.
