Ukrainian drones attack Russia's Samara region at night, damaging industrial facilities and e-commerce warehouses

Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, the governor of Russia's Samara region, said on the 22nd that a Ukrainian drone attacked an industrial facility in the state at night; in addition, a warehouse also located in the state belonging to Ozon, Russia's second largest e-commerce company, was also attacked.

Fedorishev posted on the instant messaging software Telegram that several people were injured in this wave of drone strikes at night, but he did not specify the name of the industrial facility that was attacked. Samara Oblast, which houses several oil refineries, has been attacked by Ukraine several times before.

Later on the same day, the Ukrainian military confirmed that it had attacked the Novokuibyshevsk refinery in Samara Region at night and caused a fire at the facility; the extent of the damage is still being clarified.

Ozon also issued a statement through Telegram, stating that the company's logistics center in the town of Chapayevsk, Samara Region, was attacked and injured, and that the logistics center has now suspended operations.

A few weeks ago, Ukraine launched a series of attacks on Ozon’s competitor and Russia’s largest e-commerce company, Wildberries, as part of Ukraine’s broader campaign to crack down on Russia’s military operations and related economic infrastructure.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that it shot down 457 Ukrainian drones in the past night.
