台灣館策展人陳湘汶接受中央社訪問時表示,副本來自電玩遊戲的概念,玩家可以在主要的遊戲世界裡面另存副本,在裡面累積經驗值等,「台灣有很緊張的地緣政治關係,還有世界上從幾年前我們看到的俄烏戰爭,最近中東也有緊張情勢,大家好像在地球規模的遊戲世界裡面,在開副本、演著類似劇情」。
陳湘汶指出,在1980、90年代的亞洲,也有很多國家像台灣一樣,面臨威權、民主化運動的進程,「所以我覺得在光州展出也很符合這個副本的概念」。陳湘汶笑說,有朋友問她,是否因為這次台灣館名稱風波,副標題才會是「灰色地帶」,不過她指出,這是一開始就打算用的主題,「我覺得非常巧合」。
部分作品使用AI 反思「誰餵養我們這些資訊」
這次台灣館展覽中,有幾名藝術家結合了AI技術。陳湘汶表示,「我們不斷在用網路、社群跟大家交流,可是經常會忘記去注意,到底是誰餵養我們這些資訊。所以,我覺得在這個展覽裡有AI的作品,也是用比較反思的態度去呈現」。
陳湘汶指出,像是藝術家鄭先喻的作品「光蹤」,是用AI程式去控制燈具,追蹤觀眾在展覽裡面的軌跡,「其實就是用比較感性的方式去暗示說,其實你看起來好像在社會上很自由地行動,但其實一直在被監控的狀況」。
鄭先喻則表示,「有可能人並不用去做決定,只是去設計一個系統,然後那個系統去做決定,人就去規避這個責任。我覺得,這是未來有可能要去面對的議題和思考,那個燈如果換成機關槍,可能就會變成武器」。
光州展出別具意義 盼產生對話可能性
藝術家鄭亭亭的作品「口述影像」,訪問了一名曾在戰地採訪過的攝影記者,並請3名不同表演者演繹出訪談內容。該名攝影記者目前是在台灣的外媒,拍攝「隱形的戰爭」,鄭亭亭表示,「那位攝影記者跟我說,他的韓國同事有一樣的感覺,他們都在拍一場看不見的戰爭」。
由於台灣與韓國在地緣政治中有些相近的地方,鄭亭亭說:「我也滿好奇對於韓國觀眾而言,是不是有共鳴的內容,所以非常期待。」
藝術家阮柏遠的展出作品為「刷圖_tw」、「在Fronta na maso之下,尋找鼻子」。他表示,這次展出2件作品,一件是討論台灣冷戰時期的軍事廢墟,另一件是討論捷克史達林紀念碑,「剛好這次作品是在光州展出,有點像是在後冷戰的3個不同全球性地點裡面,交叉產生對話的可能性」。
