"A Trip to the Red Ribbon - Exhibition of Shen Yaoyi's Long March Road Sketchworks" opens at the National Center for the Performing Arts

He has traveled to the red soil along the Long March more than ten times, measuring the 25,000-mile journey with his footsteps. This exhibition is divided into six units, focusing on nearly 200 works of various types including gouache, acrylic, oil painting, and sketch, fully presenting the artist's decades of creative efforts. Among them, the original gouache and sketches he created during the Long March from 1975 to 1977 were publicly exhibited in Beijing for the first time. Historical materials are scarce and extremely precious. The series of themed oil paintings exhibited at the same time relied on many The life experience of on-the-spot investigation, using pure realistic brushwork, paints the snow-capped mountains and grasslands, the majestic mountains and rivers, shapes the heroic spirit of the Red Army soldiers, writes the warm and heartwarming scenes of the army and the people, and constructs a three-dimensional and full Long March picture full of humanistic warmth.

Fan Di'an, Chairman of the China Artists Association and Chairman of the Beijing Artists Association, said on the same day that this exhibition has novel academic insights and embodies distinctive features in three aspects: it reflects that Mr. Shen Yaoyi's creative methodology has achieved the inner unity of expressing historical truth and reflecting the emotions of the scene; he has always closely linked the expression of sketching with the creative conception, and rooted in The accumulation of real life sketches enabled him to return to the historical space of the Long March when he started writing, and the sketches used creative consciousness to depict typical scenes; the artistic language has a unique personal style, showing the organic blend of sublime aesthetics and lyrical poetry, presenting a scene similar to a drama stage and a large-scale musical epic, and writing a Long March story full of emotion and warmth.

Shen Yaoyi said, "Although I have gone through many difficulties in my creation, I have always strived to present what I feel in my heart and the true face of the Long March. I rely on repeated practice over time and continuous insights. Only by truly 'walking in' can I reach a state. If my works can resonate with the audience, I will be very satisfied."

It is reported that this "Red Ribbon Tour - Exhibition of Shen Yaoyi's Long March Road Sketching Works" will last until October 25.
