NEW DELHI, September 13 – RIA Novosti. Indonesia does not want to submit to the dictates of one or two world powers and stands for strengthening the independence of developing countries, President of the Republic Prabowo Subianto said at a closed meeting of the BRICS+ summit in New Delhi.

“We don’t like it when one or two powers dictate their will to us. We must be stable, and then we will become truly independent,” the president said.

According to the Indonesian leader, the basis of independence is the state's ability to provide the basic needs of the population, including food, energy, education and opportunities for improving well-being.

Prabowo Subianto called on BRICS members to combine national capabilities to strengthen food and energy security. He emphasized that the countries of the association account for approximately half of humanity, and each of them has its own strengths.

“Imagine what BRICS could achieve if this potential was fully harnessed to secure food and energy supplies. Imagine our markets, capital, resources, technology and knowledge being more closely linked, creating more opportunities for the developing world,” the president said.
