A horrific traffic accident occurred on Jingping Road, Zhonghe District, New Taipei City at around 8pm yesterday evening. When a 48-year-old woman surnamed Zhang was crossing the road at a zebra crossing, she was hit by a car turning left and was trapped under the car on the spot. The situation was critical. Four enthusiastic people passing by saw the situation and worked together to pull the trapped woman out of the car and send her to the hospital. After rescue, Zhang suffered multiple injuries to her limbs. Fortunately, she was conscious and her life was not in danger. The police conducted an on-site alcohol test to rule out drunk driving. In addition to reviewing the monitors to clarify the culprit, the police also issued a legal report for driving without stopping for pedestrians and causing injuries. The driver may face heavy fines such as having his driver's license revoked.

After the accident, the vehicle stopped immediately, and four enthusiastic people passing by rushed to the rescue without hesitation. They worked together to pull out Zhang Nv who was stuck under the car safely, and assisted in notifying 119 to send an ambulance to send her to Shuanghe Hospital for treatment. After examination by medical staff, Zhang's left hand and knees were bruised, and her left calf was lacerated. Fortunately, she became conscious after first aid and her life was not in danger.

After receiving the notification, the police from the traffic branch of the Zhonghe Branch rushed to the scene to deal with the incident. After conducting a breath alcohol concentration test on the driver Chen, the test value was 0.00 mg per liter, ruling out the possibility of drunk driving. The police have completed on-site surveying and mapping, photographic evidence collection and traffic accident file filing in accordance with regulations, and have reviewed images from surveillance cameras at surrounding intersections to reconstruct the incident.

In response to the violation of Chen Nan's violation of driving a car on a pedestrian crossing and failing to yield to pedestrians as required, causing an accident and causing injuries, the Zhonghe Branch pointed out that it has issued a ticket according to the provisions of Article 44, Item 4 of the "Road Traffic Management Punishment Regulations". Chen Nan may face a fine of not less than NT$18,000 and not more than NT$36,000, and his driver's license will be suspended for one to two years.
