A state of emergency has been introduced in three districts of the Chelyabinsk region due to wild fires

A state of emergency was introduced in the Kartalinsky municipal district of the Chelyabinsk region due to wild fires, the press service of the district administration reported.

A state of emergency due to wildfires, as the regional Ministry of Public Security reported on Tuesday, was introduced in the Kizilsky and Varna municipal districts.

According to the department, in the Kartalinsky district, near the villages of Vishnevy and Krasny Yar, as a result of a wind gust of up to 17 meters per second, a natural fire spread over an area of ​​more than 200 hectares.

According to the administration, firefighters, Cossacks, and farmers carried out the fire at night.

“A state of emergency has been introduced on the territory of the Kartalinsky district. Due to heavy smoke in the village (Krasny Yar - ed.), specialists are conducting door-to-door visits and recommending that residents leave their homes. The sick and elderly have already been taken to a safe place,” says the district administration’s page on the VKontakte social network.

The message notes that special places are provided to accommodate residents, and emergency evacuation buses are ready to leave at any time.

The administration noted that travel along the highway in the direction of Krasny Yar is blocked for all vehicles except emergency vehicles.
