Hu Jianbo, president of the National Data Development Institute, said in his speech that the integration of data and artificial intelligence is giving rise to new application paradigms; the value release of data elements is extending from human data to machine data.

Huang Yan, president of China Three Gorges University, said that it will take the construction of Three Gorges' characteristic scenarios as a guide, rely on "Data+AI" technology to continue to improve the efficiency of the development and utilization of Three Gorges data elements, and accelerate the construction of the Three Gorges Data Service Center.

The award ceremony for the Hubei branch of the 2026 "Data Elements ×" competition was also held on site. It is understood that since the launch of the Hubei competition in May this year, a total of 1,133 application projects have been received, with more than 8,000 participants. After layers of selection, 15 first prizes, 30 second prizes, 49 third prizes and 56 excellence awards were awarded.

Yichang is the location of the Three Gorges Project and the second batch of pilot cities for national data infrastructure construction. It is currently creating data application scenarios around water conservancy and hydropower, Yangtze River protection, and city-wide digital transformation.

The Yichang Municipal Government signed a framework cooperation agreement with the National Data Development Institute on the same day.
