Korea Meteorological Administration issues storm surge warning for Chuja Island

(Jeju = Yonhap News) The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that a storm surge warning will be issued for Chuja Island as of 10:15 p.m. on the 9th.

A storm surge is a disaster in which land is submerged in seawater due to a combination of high and low tides, low pressure, and storms. It is different from a tsunami caused by an earthquake.

A wind warning was issued for the southern seas of Jeju Island, the eastern Jeju Island coast, the southwestern seas of Jeju Island, the southeastern seas of Jeju Island, and the southern seas of Jeju Island.
